My Impressions of IIC-4
by Ingerith Pooten

I am a proud Igorot lady. I admit that this was not the most well executed IIC in its history. However, the spirit of the IICs have remained constant, and IIC in London was no exception. The spirit and soul of its message was evidently visible and may it live on forever.

IIC-4 relayed a message. And the message is this: We can’t look forward, until we look back. From the Youth perspective, I genuinely, wholeheartedly, agree with this. I feel the consultation managed to address key issues in principle, but only when actions are undertaken can we say, we attained success.  I believe IIC-4 was a great success in terms of its programs.

During the IIC-4 in London, several important papers and speeches were presented. The IGO website team has decided to post the full text of these papers and speeches, once they become available. They will be posted in Microsoft Word Document format so that they can easily be viewed and printed if needed. It might take a while to download, especially the longer articles, so please be patient. The first one posted is the paper presented by Yvonne Belen titled Traditional Medicine and Medicinal Plants. The second is the speech presented by Bishop Benjamin Botengan titled "Igorot Values in the 21st Century: Cultures on the Edge".
